Ginny Golding Golf

Ginny Golding has been a Class ‘A’ PGA of Canada Professional for 30 years and was the first female member to join the PGA of BC.
Recognized as the Best Golf Coach in BC in 2010 by Best of Vancouver Magazine, Ginny has held teaching and/or Director of Instruction positions at Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club, Big Sky Golf & Country Club, Westwood Plateau Golf Club and Musqueam Golf and Learning Academy. For the past decade she has been teaching golfers from all over the lower mainland at University Golf Club.
The Opportunity
On June 23, 2014, Ginny Golding would celebrate her 65th birthday and 30 years as a golf coach. She wanted to commemorate the milestones in a way that would give back through golf to other women — One Swing at a Time (OSAT) !
So she set out to raise $65,000 by playing 65 holes of golf in one day to help educate girls in Kenya and Tanzania through the Canadian Harambee Education Society (CHES).
The Plan – Media Relations Program
I was honored to be asked to help Ginny achieve her financial target by executing a PR campaign to create awareness for One Swing at a Time with Canadian media.
The Results
- OSAT received very positive media coverage within The Vancouver Sun, Global TV Weekend Morning Show, Golf News Now, Inside Golf Magazine, Kelowna Capital News (page 25), Golf West and Golfgal.
- The event was a huge success; OSAT exceeded its goal by over $18,000, raising $81,000+ for CHES – Read the full story here.
