face Hello and welcome to my digital world!  Since you’re here, you are probably wondering who I am and why you should care.  Who I am is simple…I am a consultant who is passionate about marketing, writing and golf.

It all started more than a few years ago when I graduated from Computer Science and started my career as a software developer.  I designed and coded command and control systems, graphics libraries and management systems for telecom switches.

I managed cross-functional teams of 2 to 50 and ran multi-million dollar product development and systems integration projects and proposals. I lived in a highly complex technical world and I loved it.

But it didn’t take me long to discover that I was living in a “field of dreams”.  Just because I helped build great products didn’t mean anyone would come to buy them.  It was then that I realized the best mousetraps don’t win market share; it’s the best marketing.

So I took the plunge into what my engineering colleagues called “the dark side”, became a marketer and never looked back.

At that time the internet was just brochure-ware for brands and email was the only real form of digital communication.  But the world was changing fast and when voice and data collided, things really started to get exciting.  I became an evangelist for Mitel’s Data Integrated Voice Architecture (DIVA) and travelled the world helping position the company as a leader in VOIP and the powerful applications it enabled.  That’s when I became a “Digital Diva”.

Soon after, wireless became the next new wave, and I dove right in establishing a unique brand and industry recognition for a small start-up, making it one of CNET’s Top 5 wireless companies to watch.

At that point in my career, I thought I’d done it all – HA!  So I started my own consulting company, using everything I’d learned to help small businesses market their mousetraps.  And I’m proud to say that over the past decade I’ve been very fortunate to be able to help many incredibly talented clients achieve, and often exceed, their business objectives.

It’s been quite a ride, made even more exciting by the digital, mobile and social media revolution.  Today, the internet is a hyper-connected community owned by consumers who can make or break a brand.  Marketing is evolving at record pace and I love waking up every morning knowing that I’m going to learn something new each and every day – something I can use to help my clients succeed.
